Cross-border interference : MP Mohamed Bangura warned President Bio to heed Guinea’s President Conde’s complaints

SIERRA LEONE’S VP JULDEH JALLOH INTERFERED IN GUINEA’S POLITICS ; PRESIDENT CONDE COMPLAINED AND MP MOHAMED BANGURA WARNED PRESIDENT BIO THAT IT COULD BE INJURIOUS TO SIERRA LEONE

BY KABS KANU

According to the WEEKLY ANALYST newspaper of Sierra Leone , the President of Guinea, PROFESSOR ALPHA CONDE did publicly complain that Sierra Leone’s Vice-President. DR. MOHAMED JULDEH JALLOH, was interfering in the internal politics of his country. .

Following the complaint by President CONDE, the Government of Sierra Leone did nothing to address the concerns of the Guinean head of state. Consequently, Sierra Leone’s Former Information Mainister, now a parliamentarian, Mohamed Bangura, wrote an urgent letter, warning President Maada Bio that the claim apportioned on Sierra Leone was was grave and could be injurious.

Apparently, the PAOPA Government in Sierra Leone did nothing again to meet with the Guinean President to resolve the matter.

Those of us blaming Guinea’s President Conde for the state of hostility between Guinea and Sierra Leone should know that the cake of blame should be shared between Conde and President Bio of Sierra Leone.

Knowing that Guinea has been a faithful , friendly and helpful neighboring country, even sending troops to Sierra Leone to help whenever we had a political crisis, President Bio should have addressed President Conde’s complaint and sanctioned VP Juldeh, who as a Fula, interfered in Guinea where there was a concerted attempt to have a presidential candidate,Mr. Cellou Diallo, also a Fula, replace Professor Conde, a Mandingo. as President of Guinea during the recent disputed Guinea General Elections.

VP Juldeh’s attempt to export to Guinea the SLPP’s tribalistic political mantra should have been condemned , but this was not done.

Any fair-minded Sierra Leonean would condemn his country for interfering in the politics of a sister nation , especially Guinea, a country that has always stood with us in difficult times. We have to face the truth and speak it where necessary. It was Sierra Leone that started the acts of aggression against the people of Guinea by interfering in their presidential elections.

President Bio should try and leave his PAOPA politics aside and try to maintain good relations with our neighboring countries, Guinea and Liberia. Before him, all our presidents enjoyed fraternal relations with Guinea and President Conde has been a fiend of our nation.

Yes, we are aggrieved that Guinea is bullying Sierra Leone on the YENGA issue but this present stalemate could not have happened if our VP, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh, had not interfered in the internal affairs of Guinea.
