Sierra Leoneans demonstrate against President Maada Bio : Police officers killed, government buses burnt down, nation in total disarray and MAC-P and 3pm-6am curfew imposed

Sierra Leoneans have gone into the streets to stage the biggest and the most violent protest against President Maada Bio so far.

Chanting , “MAADA MUST GO, WE WANT PEACE “, hundreds of people  are fearlessly marching through the streets of Freetown and major towns, denouncing economic hardship, rising prices, dictatorship , corruption and bad governance. At least 3 police officers who shot at civilians have been lynched by angry youths , leading to the SLPP government invoking Military Aid to Civil Power ( MAC-P) and imposing a 3pm to 6am curfew.

The street demonstration was called by an organization named PEOPLE POWER IN POLITICS ( PPP)  headed by a social media political commentator that his hordes of supporters inside and outside Sierra Leone call KING ADEBAYOR,  who operates from Holland,  as the climax to two days of sit-down strike against the SLPP Government. On Monday and Tuesday, Sierra Leone was crippled by the sit-home action and today as directed by Adebayor, the people came out into the streets to demonstrate.

Video clips and photos being displayed on social media show a nation in total disarray , with angry crowds rising up against the government publicly, contrary to the expectations of the government and supporters of the SLPP,  who had called off the PPP three-day people’s action as  mere talk and threatening anybody who dared step out to demonstrate.

A government and its supporters out of touch with reality underestimated the anger of the people. Police, as usual, overreacted but they met a bloody response this time from the people as some of them were clobbered to death by the irrate crowds of protesters.

THERE WAS  nothing more dramatic than the fact that while  the demonstration in Freetown was going on, another was being held in London at the Sierra Leone High Commission by another group of Sierra Leoneans who are demanding that President Maada Bio cut short his private trip to the UK and return home.
