Little dips of water and little grains of sand make a mighty ocean. This could be aptly said of the new Sierra Leone Women of Legacy Foundation.





Saturday, August 22, 2026 was a landmark moment for the Foundation as it held its first Meet & Greet at the home of its Founder and President, H.E. Dr. Isatu Timbo Sheriff, the celebrated Goodwill Ambassador, Honorary Consul and philanthropist .
According to members who attended the event, it was a wonderful afternoon filled with ambiance, high dreams, warmth, laughter and sisterhood . Delightfully, Sierra Leonean women united around one shared ideal and vision: Building a lasting and an indelible legacy that will benefit generations to come.
The Sierra Leone Women of Legacy Foundation is a sisterhood built by women and dedicated to uplifting, mentoring, empowering, and creating a lasting impact for our beloved country, Sierra Leone.
According to the President, Dr. Isatu Timbo- Sheriff , the Foundation will not only help to pioneer and champion gender equality and women’s empowerment ; it hopes to build a solid legacy of promoting and protecting the prerogatives of women’s rights in leadership and other gainful spheres of life.
The women spent a few memorable hours together discussing the blueprints and the way forward for the foundation and continued the celebration with an elegant dinner at Marmalade Restaurant in Manhattan Beach.
A vivacious atmosphere of love and shared dreams permeated the fruitful atmosphere and over delicious food, the women had more meaningful conversations which made the evening truly special. It was the perfect way to conclude a joyful and inspiring day.
Dr. Timbo- Sheriff thanked every member of the Foundation for their valued presence and participation and noted that with unalloyed determination and purpose, the organization would definitely fulfill its goals and objectives.
