Amb. Munu takes leave of President Koroma

Sierra Leone’s ambassador designate to the Republic of Liberia Mr Francis Alieu MunuTuesday 6th February took formal leave of His Excellency President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma to commence his tour of duty.

The ceremony which took place at State House, brought together family members, friends and well-wishers of the former police chief.

 

Addressing Ambassador Munu, President Koroma said the appointment was an acknowledgment of strides that had been made by the former Police chief in serving the country, which he believes will help in the execution of his duty. He encouraged Ambassador Munu to collaborate with his counterparts on security, diplomatic, multilateral, and bilateral matters as well as at the Mano River Union level.

The President implored Mr Munu to work with the host country to further consolidate ties between two countries.

Ambassador Francis Alieu Munu in his brief farewell courtesies, thanked President Koroma for the confidence reposed in him, first, when he appointed him as Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police and now as Ambassador to the Republic of Liberia. He assured the president that he will live up to the expectations of his new assignment and vowed to promote the country’s foreign policy, with special focus on security issues.
