Isaiah 40: 5 -”And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” These instructive words from the Bible will better describe the mighty movement of God’s Spirit and Power during the regular Sunday worship service of the Covenant Child World Evangelistic Ministry at the Caribbean Palace Hall in Franklin Township, Somerset , New Jersey yesterday.
East African sisters shake the hall with their Swahili song : “The Blessings of God will follow you wherever you go “. It is real joy to praise and worship the Lord.
Thanks to the international character of the fellowship, the church burst into excitement during the praise and worship when some members from East Africa led by Sisters Judy and Gladys Mulemi took the stage to sing a soul-shaking and insiring Swahili song , which interpreted in English means : “The Blessings of God will follow you wherever you go “. The church was virtally set on fire by the highly-spiritual song. Oh, how wonderful it is when brethren praise and worship the Lord.
This was followed by another inspiring song variously in French and English by another member from the Caribbean, Sister Margie Lawrence , which also moved the church and got everybody on their feet worshipping and praising the Lord. The praise and worship , led by Sister Augustina Taylor, as usual was full of the anointing of God and placed members in spiritual frame for worship and receiving the Word of God.

Before Pastor Tigidankay Kabs-Kanu delivered the day’s sermon, Brother Dominic Kabineh exhorted the members on sowing in the Kingdom of God . He used 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 : “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor 9:6-7).
Co-Pastor Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu prayed for the church and for the lives of members and families represented at the service. He prayed that God will bring healing to their bones and spirit and shower them blessings and prosperity. He rebuked the work of the devil over their lives and asked God to take away unwanted happenstances and accidents from their lives. He said that members of the church are one family and in manifestation of that, the church will have its first LOVE FEST on Sunday next . One Sunday every month, members will have a dinner in the church to help strengthen brotherhood and sisterhood.
In her sermon titled “And so, what now ? ” , Sister Tigi preached that God does not want his children to be stagnant in any field of endeavour but wants them to take a step of faith and move to improve their circumstances , with faith in God and with his help. She said that the desire for pursuit is born in man but often complacency , discouragement, slothfulness and lack of faith stifle action from them. She said that God wants christians to be the head and not the tail and when one is a child of God, mediocrity should not be part of him/her. Christians must strive because God wants them to live abundant lives on this earth.
Pastor Tigi said that God eschews stagnation even in our spiritual lives. “After you become born again, what next ? ” .She preached that God wants christians to grow in spirit, prayer , fellowship and knowledge of the Word of God. She admonished members to abide in the Word because it is only the Word that is able to help them to grow in the Lord. She also advised them to attend Bible classes and fellowship regularly with the brethren as it was through this that they will also grow in the Lord. Using 2 Timothy 2 : 15, she admonished that christians must “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” Other Bible passages she used for her sermon included : 1 Timothy 1 : 13-19; Proverbs 19 : 20; 4: 13-27; Philippians 2: 12.
