*APC Running Mate attends Children’s Christmas Party in Makeni*

 

Deputy Speaker of the House of Parliament and All People’s Congress (APC) running mate for the March 2018 elections Hon. Chernoh Ramadan Maju Bah accompanied by his wife Mrs. Hawa Bah and several parliamentarians this afternoon (Sunday 24 December) attended the Christmas party for children hosted by the Makeni City Council in Bombali district.

 

Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Bah expressed optimism in the future of Sierra Leonean children, saying that today’s children are the leaders of tomorrow who should be encouraged and nurtured well. He congratulated them for participating in the quiz competition and this year’s Christmas party.

 

Chairman of the ceremony Ibrahim Allieu Sesay disclosed that this annual Christmas party for school going children as well as those in need has always been sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Chernoh Bah fondly known as Chericoco.

 

In her welcome address, Her Worship Mayor Sunkarie Kamara praised Hon. Chericoco for his concern for the welfare of children. He thanked him for always sponsoring the Children’s Christmas party in Makeni city, saying that Christmas was all about giving and sharing.

 

The party kicked off with a quiz competition between two schools that made it to the final; SLMB Primary School and Saint Francis Primary School. Saint Francis Primary School won the quiz competition with 86 points over SLMB’s 72.

The APC Running Mate was also joined by President Ernest Bai Koroma at the event who told the young children that it was important for them to study hard to prepare themselves for the future. When asked what they wanted to become in future, most of the children wanted to be lawyers, doctors, engineers, teachers, politicians and above all, Presidents.
