Former President Dr. Ernest  Bai Koroma has this morning  arrived at the CID where he was invited on Thursday to answer questions with regards to the alleged coup attempt.

YESTERDAY , HE ARRIVED IN FREETOWN FROM MAKENI

Determined To Support The Due Process, Former President Koroma Arrives In Freetown

Upon receiving the police invitation this morning, the former President of Sierra Leone, HE Ernest Bai Koroma immediately set off for Freetown to assist the police investigation.

Silently, former President Koroma has observed relentless efforts to assassinate his character, damage his reputation, and tarnish his legacy. Despite ignoring the baseless accusations, firmly believing in the triumph of truth, they have persisted. The recent attempt to link him to the events of 26 November is utterly misplaced and inconsistent with his peaceful character of the statesman.

In defense of his name, that of his family, and the unyielding pursuit of truth, he maintains an open mind and stands ready to fully cooperate with the ongoing police investigations. To demonstration his determination to cooperate with the due process, he promptly traveled to Freetown to actively assist in the inquiry.

Former President Koroma served his country diligently for two consecutive terms from 2007 -2018 during which time Sierra Leone became the most peaceful country in West Africa. He lead an inclusive broad-based government that promoted national unity and cohesion.

President Koroma’s commitment to the peace and progress of the country remains unwavering. In these challenging moments, he advocates for due process to be the vanguard, and urged that the rule of law should reign supreme in Sierra Leone’s democracy.

“I want nothing other than peace, unity and steady development of our beloved Sierra Leone”, said former President Koroma. The statesman believes that through the pursuit of justice, Sierra Leone can uphold the principles that guide our nation towards a brighter future.
