*THE ARREST OF OPPOSITION MEMBERS TAKES TOLL EVEN AFTER THE SIGNING OF THE COMMUNIQUE…*
*THE APC NEEDS A RE-THINK*

Many Sierra Leoneans applauded the approach to peace and national cohesion during the signing of the dialogue agreement by the Sierra Leone People’s Party, the All Peoples Congress Party, and the International Community, following the controversial outcome of the June 24 Multi-tier elections.
The agreement pointed out that the government of Sierra Leone, led by President Bio should release political prisoners and drop down all politically motivated cases. The agreement further indicated that all Sierra Leoneans who had fled from the country as a result of political threats and intimidation to be exonerated.
But to our greatest dismay, the witch-hunt against APC supporters and senior stalwarts has taken a toll after the signing of the dialogue communique at the Bintumani Conference Hall.
The SLPP-led government has woefully contravened the agreements enshrined in the said communique, one of which is the clause that demands for the release of political prisoners which has taken an opposite trend.
Look at the calculated ploy against Bai Mahmoud Bangura and the recent coup-kush lawsuit against Comrade Abubakarr Boxx Konteh!
One could be tempted to urge the All Peoples Congress Party to do a rethink on this signed agreement and find lawful ways to address this persistent political intimidation and harassment perpetrated against its members.
