                                    TRANSITIONAL GOVERNANCE ARRANGEMENTS   

 

 

 

THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS HEREBY INFORMED THAT IN ORDER TO ENSURE CONTINUITY IN GOVERNANCE AND A SMOOTH TRANSITION BETWEEN THE OLD ADMINISTRATION AND THE NEW ONE USHERED IN BY THE ELECTION OF HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT DR ERNEST BAI KOROMA FOR A SECOND TERM, ALL MINISTERS AND DEPUTY MINISTERS OF GOVERNMENT WILL REMAIN IN POST UNTIL PARLIAMENT IS RECONSTITUTED AND NEW MINISTERS GO THROUGH THE PARLIAMENTARY PROCESS FOR APPROVAL OF THEIR APPOINTMENTS.   

 

HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT WOULD LIKE TO REITERATE THAT THE TIME FOR POLITICS IS OVER AND WORK ON THE AGENDA FOR PROSPERITY HAS STARTED. PUBLIC SERVANTS ARE THEREFORE REQUESTED TO RESUME THEIR NORMAL DUTIES WHICH THEY ARE EXPECTED TO CARRY OUT WITH LOYALTY AND IMPARTIALITY.

 

WHILE THANKING THE SECURITY FORCES FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH THEY HAVE MAINTAINED LAW AND ORDER THUS FAR, HIS EXCELLENCY EXPECTS THE SIERRA LEONE POLICE TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND

SECURITY OF ALL PEOPLE AS WELL AS THEIR PROPERTY. ANY BREACH OF THE LAW SHOULD BE FIRMLY AND SWIFTLY DEALT WITH.

 

SUPPORTERS OF POLITICAL PARTIES SHOULD REFRAIN FROM MAKING PROVOCATIVE STATEMENTS, DRAWING OR PRINTING CARICATURES OR SINGING OFFENSIVE SONGS THAT CAN ONLY CREATE FURTHER DIVISION BETWEEN OPPONENTS.

 

 

 

HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT WISHES TO RE-EMPHASIZE THAT THIS IS THE TIME FOR ALL OF US TO EMBRACE EACH OTHER AND WORK TOGETHER TO MOVE THIS COUNTRY FORWARD IN PEACE AND HARMONY.
