Donald Cole, believed to be a government civil servant, allegedly raped a JSS III school girl at his No. 24 Will Street residence in Freetown.
Testifying in court yesterday, the 17 year old victim, said she lives close to the accused residence and that when she passed the BECE examination last year, the accused Donald Cole invited her to see him at his home for a present.
She told Court No. 3 presided over by Magistrate Bankole Shyllon, that in honouring the accused invitation, she went to his No. 24 Will Street residence in early November last year. Upon arrival, she went on, the accused called her into his room where he gave her Le 10,000 with a promise of a further Le 100,000 for her.
It was at this point according to the complainant that the accused grabbed her, covered her mouth with one of his hands and threw her onto the bed.
She told the court that while he was lying on top of her, he removed her trousers and knickers before he sexually abused her. She maintained that she couldn’t cry out because her mouth was covered.
She said she later reported the incident to her aunt who took her to the police where she was issued a medical report and proceeded to the Police doctor who examined her.
Defence lawyer EM Kamara cross- examined the complainant, asking whether she had read the medical report to which she replied “yes”.
The matter comes up again January 20 this year.
