Ambassador Amara Sowa admonishes citizens to work together to reverse the deteriorating situation in the country

At a fundraising dinner organized by the APC Washington Metropolitan Chapter- 6/14/25, His Excellency Ambassador Amara Sowa reflected on the Sierra Leone he knew while growing up, where there was electricity, pipe borne water, and good neighborhood, where community took responsibility for the wellbeing of all.

” The war deteriorated our country. Sierra Leone reversed to the bottom of human development index, and education, health services were heavily impacted by the war. Yet, I have hope that if we work together, we can be able to reverse the deteriorating situation”, H.E. Sowa said.

Furthermore, His Excellency Ambassador Amara Sowa emphasized on the importance of the Free Quality Education in Sierra Leone, which he said is the foundation for a productive nation. “We should have a country where we no longer abuse our leaders , and no one political party, tribe , or individual will make a country. We should be united in diversity”, Ambassador Sowa said. He concluded by encouraging all Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora to join him in promoting the interests of the country. “My office is open – I want to work with all of you, as long as you are a Sierra Leonean”, H.E. Sowa noted.

His Excellency Ambassador Sowa was introduced at the opposition APC dinner fundraising event in Washington, DC by Mr. Ajibu Jalloh, who referred to Ambassador Sowa as an Educator, who taught some people sitting in the fundraising dinner room, and many who had met Ambassador Sowa during his university academic enterprise.

President of the APC Metropolitan Chapter, Mr. Abubakarr Koroma thanked Ambassador Sowa for attending the APC dinner. “It clearly shows that Ambassador Sowa is in United States to serve the people. President Bio made a very good pick in appointing a character in Ambassador Sowa”, APC Washington DC Chapter President said.

The organizers of the APC Washington, DC Chapter fundraising dinner presented a Certificate of Service to the Embassy of Sierra Leone, Washington, DC.
