11 people have been confirmed dead by Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh who visited the Pademba Correctional Centre this afternoon to assess the level of damage done yesterday.
Of the 42 people who sustained injuries, 29 are inmates according to the Vice President.
This information has shocked many Sierra Leoneans because it sounded like a massacre. Many people are complaining that the security forces used disproportionate forces against the unarmed prisoners.
