Sierra Leoneans appalled by SLPP’s extradition -from -Guinea request for citizens still living in the country

By KABS KANU

They have not gone anywhere and are still in the country but the Sierra Lone People’s Party government is requesting the Government of Guinea to extradite them to Sierra Leone to answer to a number of alleged felony charges.

Last Friday, Sierra Leoneans were stunned when the following statement was released by the Sierra Leone Police

COMRADE KOITA

“Be informed that, the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters (CID HQ.) is currently investigating cases relating to conspiracy to commit a felony, wounding with intent, incitement, insulting conduct and other related offences against the under-mentioned individuals:

 1. Idrissa Ahmed Kamara aka Leather boot

2. Bakarr Kamara Ex-SLP personnel (OSD)

3. Victor Kamara-Ex-SLP personnel (OSD)

4. Sullay Deen Sesay Ex SLP personnel (OSD)

5. Yaraba Bangura Ex-SLP personnel (OSD)

6. Kabba MS. Dumbuya Ex-SLP personnel (OSD)

7. Amadu Koita Makalo Rtd. RSLAF personnel

8. Dr Sylvia Olayinka Blyden

“in the course of the investigations on diverse dates, the aforementioned suspects took to their heels. Against that background, each and every one of them was put on a warrant of arrest on the case and inquiry files with the above-mentioned C/R Na. (see attached copy of the said warrant of arrest) for ease of reference.

In view of the above, you are requested to use your good office to facilitate the extradition of the above-mentioned suspects under police escort from Guinea to the CID HQ Freetown, in a bid to complete the investigations.

This request is made based upon the intelligence received by our department that the said wanted suspects are currently in Guinea with a view to escape justice. Count on your usual corporation.

Signed by John Kenneth Alpha, D/CSP, Head of CID. “

All the mentioned persons had not moved a limb from Sierra Leone and are equally not aware of any of the allegations being made against them. Sierra Leoneans could not understand why the Sierra Leone Police would ask the authorities in Guinea to extradite people who have not left the country and who are not on the run, as being claimed.

Two of the named persons, former military officer Amadu Koita and Dr. Sylvia Blyden, a former cabinet minister and the Publisher of the Awareness Times newspaper came out swinging,

Koita said :  “Everyone knows including the top security officers that I am in Sierra Leone. I even made calls to some of them with my Sierra Leone mobile number to prove that I am not in Guinea. All the five OSD officers named are living quietly in Sierra Leone. It is disappointing that these OSDs, who were personal security to former President Ernest Koroma, could be targeted in this way. The SLPP government did this because of President Koroma.”

Dr. Sylvia Blyden wrote the following on her Facebook page :

Greetings from my humble residence at Cockle Bay in Freetown. I took this photo moments ago today February 5th 2021. I have not left Sierra Leone since August 2019 when I returned from America with my head held high to face their so-called Commission Of Inquiry.

I am right here. Infact, I have been at the Supreme Court along Siaka Stevens Street (right there at Cotton Tree roundabout) twice already this year of 2021. I go there so as to be physically present for my Petition against H.E. Bio election as President. Please see my 21st January 2021 signature on my Affidavit that I signed at the Law Courts registry after I personally paid my filing fees that day to the Judiciary Treasury. See the NRA receipt also issued to me that day.

Today as well, I went to the Judiciary registry at Law Court. One unique trait, that only Leaders have, is the ability to stay focused and never let detractors believe they can move you to react to their distractions at the time they desire you to be distracted. That is why I have ignored the Sierra Leone Police Interpol NCB documents which H.E. President Bio’s beloved Global Times Newspaper released on social media this morning in which they are claiming I am a fugitive in neighbouring Guinea of H.E. President Alpha Conde.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

I am a very busy person so I will not allow these SLPP people to distract me. That is why I had ignored them. Anyway, I’m less busy now. So stand by for a short video message tonight recorded from this my same Cockle Bay veranda here in Freetown. In that video, I will announce another Address to the Nation slated for Sunday 7th February 2021 and also playing an interesting recording also.🤗I will release it after my dinner and a little relaxation. Stay tuned.God bless Sierra Leone.Let’s keep our flag proudly flying.🇸🇱🇸🇱🇸🇱**********

ADDENDUM:-

Fellow Sierra Leoneans, These people know I am not in Guinea. They know it is Complete nonsense. That POLICE INTERPOL NCB Document was leaked.‼️It was never meant to be publicised.Na DRY EYE COVER SHAME Global Times and the SLPP media den day pan now lekkeh for say den been want am out.BIG LIE.🤥

It was to have been part of *secret* dispatches to various international bodies. We have very dangerous people running the SLPP REGIME.People day underestimate den wan ya so.Because I am a Child of God so the Almighty used MAN DEM INSIDE THE MAN DEM MAN DEM for expose the secret dispatch.Just think carefully on this….Everyone knows I am around.

The Supreme Court even gave directives on 21st January for my movements to not be hindered.Journalists, including GLOBAL TIMES, were in Court. That document was never meant to be leaked out. NEVER.It was part of their targeted propaganda against selected persons so as to make a case for themselves over the impasse with Guinea whilst surreptitiously demonizing to international bodies, the person they fear *THE MOST* inside the APC right now – Sylvia Olayinka Blyden. They are now very confused.I will soon release a new video broadcast tonight. 😎Den day cam confused more….”

The Facebook statement was backed by this photo, which Blyden said she took at her home in Cockle Bay, Freetown.

The other named persons, including the very popular former officer Ibrahim Kamara ( Leather Boots ) have not made statements, but they are also believed to be in Sierra Leone and have gone nowhere.

What could be the case is that the SLPP Government has targeted these innocent persons and so determined are they to do them in that they went and made false allegations against them and even thought they were in Guinea, a country that the SLPP Government is having border issues with lately.

To reasonable people, it is reckless endangerment of these Sierra Leoneans by the SLPP Government. Why would a government issue extradition orders for people who have not committed a felony and who are living in their country , if it is not to put their lives in jeopardy ? They know too well how overzealous, unprofessional and trigger-happy their security officers are, whether while executing their duties or harassing peaceful citizens.

The SLPP should stop these needless harassment, targeting and endangering of the welfare and the lives of innocent citizens. This is a shame and any government with moral compass, integrity and ethics would have apologized , if they made an error, but as it is, it seems like a deliberate hatchet job that failed.
