Sierra Leoneans condemn heft bonuses promised players by President Bio

Some Sierra Leoneans are not pleased with President Bio for promising each player of the national team–LEONE STARS–$ 10, 000 if they win tonight’s match against Benin and qualify for the Africa Nations Cup.

Some commentators in the social media accused President Bio of not visiting the hundreds of languishing victims of last week’s Kroobay fire disaster but he was able to visit the players and promise them hefty bonuses.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE VIEWS OF SIERRA LEONEANS

Lord have mercy…. I am confused… I am puzzled…. Can anyone tell me does this game save lives… Does it make a difference to local people…. The country has too many challenges… A football team consist of almost 22 players including reserves and coaching staff… The final cost could be over 220 thousand US dollars… This is crazy… What will our donors who give us Almost 70 percent of our budget say … Why should they bother assisting Sierraleone in the future.. Such waste … This is madness

It does not make sense. With the limited resources the country has – he should maximise the use of incentive to achieve the ultimate result. Simple human resource management technique. Also good sales pitch approach. So what happens after they win tomorrow’s match and they receive their cash and land? Really does not make sense bro Thats idiotic😄 why not give them a big incentive to win the tournament instead of tomorrow’s match.

Please let them use those monies to make our deplorable roads. The money is too much.
