Freetown, Sierra Leone — As Sierra Leone grapples with an increasingly dire economic situation, concerns are mounting over the government’s handling of public resources and fiscal policies.
Recent observations reveal that, despite the country’s economic turmoil, the administration continues to expand its bureaucratic footprint with the creation of numerous new ministries, agencies, and embassies. This expansion is significantly inflating the national wage bill, raising alarms about the efficiency and sustainability of public spending.
The current state of the economy is marked by soaring inflation, high cost of living, and stagnant salaries.
