THE MONSTERS THEY CREATED IN KENEMA CAN NO LONGER BE CAGED: SILENCE AT THE TIME WASN’T GOLDEN AFTERWARDS:
Two years ago, we were asked to go to court in a rather sarcastic and “back talk manner” by people whom we considered as colleagues and friends after their wicked treachery in Kenema. Prior to the unveiling of their evil plans in Kenema, we had filed several papers in court questioning the actions and deliberate omissions of the then executive led by Eddinia M. Swallow Esq. to address several improprieties regarding the prevailing atmosphere for the conduct of a free , fair and legitimate election for the Sierra Leone Bar Association. The court in its wisdom ruled against every single application that we filed, and in some cases refused our applications for an order to be directed at the then executive of the SLBA to do what was expected of them at the time.
Post election papers were filed, and we raised several jurisdictional objections on them, and the court again in its wisdom ruled against us and we are still waiting for the court to rule on our application for leave to appeal the ruling against us. At the time, people (majority of whom are against this executive today, but were part of the Kenema charade) refused to condemn the dastardly act and their unheard voices and loud silence were observed and recorded by us (the disenfranchised and bullied). Some of them tacitly and/or directly cheered the cruelty and criminality that took place in the full view of the public in Kenema. That orchestrated thievery (they refused to condemn and supported) has emboldened this illegitimate executive and this time it is against their very own. I want to place on record for the sake of posterity that I condemn the deliberate attempt by the present executive of Sierra Leone Bar Association to disenfranchise their colleagues, it is disgraceful, criminal and disgusting. It has no place in any civilised democracy. I will equally advise the other side “Una sef go na court.”
What happened in Kenema was criminal, despicable and thuggish. Kenema gave birth to an illegitimate executive that did not only hijack the SLBA, but divided it. The disdainful and disrespectful statements made by the looters of those elections against us still hurt. Their criminal actions without accountability emboldened them to personalise the SLBA. We will never forget their “discourteousness” and the reckless statements that followed subsequent Kenema. By the fullness of time, a lot of them will realise, albeit too late, that the bridges they have burnt weren’t worth what they soiled their “integrity” and “character” for. The monsters you created in Kenema can no longer be caged.
