The Acting National Organizing Secretary of the All Peoples Congress, Chernor C.S. Kamara, has called on the Government to speedily come out clean and release one of the party’s strongest member in the person of Abubakar Conteh commonly known as D.J.Boxx.

C.S.Kamara added that the recent arrest of Abubakar Boxx Konteh in Conakry  has sparked controversy, for which the (APC) All People’s Congress (APC) is denouncing it as a form of political witch hunt. As the Deputy and Acting National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Kamara has called upon the government to respect the agreements laid out by the tripartite Committee, specifically urging them to adhere to resolution 4, which emphasizes the importance of freeing all political prisoners.

The involvement of high-profile political figures such as Kamara, highlights the political gravity of Konteh’s arrest. Accusations of political manipulation and abuse of power have been raised, with critics viewing Konteh’s detention as a suppression of political dissent and opposition.

The tripartite Committee’s agreements were established to promote reconciliation and political stability in Sierra Leone. Resolution 4, in particular, underscores the need to address political imprisonment and release individuals detained for their political beliefs. The failure to honor these agreements could jeopardize the fragile peace and democracy in the country.

Kamara’s vocal stance underscores the deep-seated concerns within the political landscape of Sierra Leone. The call for the release of political prisoners is not just a matter of upholding human rights but also a crucial step towards fostering a climate of trust and cooperation among political rivals.

In conclusion, the arrest of Abubakar Boxx Konteh has reignited tensions and raised questions about the government’s commitment to the tripartite agreements. “The stakes are high, and Sierra Leone’s political future hinges on its ability to navigate these challenges with integrity and adherence to democratic principles” Kamara said.
