TODAY WITH GOD
SEEK THE PEACE THAT COMETH FROM GOD
JOHN 14 : 27
27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. ” Amen.
This was one of the immortal promises JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour gave his disciples and those who believe in him before he left. THE PEACE OF GOD THAT PASSETH ALL UNDERSTANDING.
When you have this peace in your heart, the peace that God loves and cares for you; the peace that your eternal destiny is secured and the peace that he will never leave you nor forsake you for eternity, your heart and mind are at rest.
Let not your peace be in the tongues of men. Man ‘s tongue will never bring you peace and joy. Do not depend on it for your peace. Rather depend on the Word of God and the peace that comes with being a true christian.
The world cannot give you this peace. The world is not attuned to give you peace. Rather, the world is constituted to shake your confidence nightly; to make you feel unloved and unwanted; to make you feel inadequate; to make you feel that nothing you do is ever enough and to make you feel that what you have is not deserved . But that is all the world can give you. MAN ‘S INHUMANITY TO MAN KNOWS NO BOUNDS.
Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Allow no one to judge YOU. Let not your peace be in the mouths of men. Put your trust in God. God has promised you in Isaiah 54; 4 that you shalt never be ashamed , nor be confounded. In Psalm 91: 4-6, he has promised you that he will cover you with his feathers ,and under his wings should thou trust. His truth will always be your shield and buckler. He has enjoined you not to be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day. nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness or the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
God loves you and will give meat to them that fear him ( Psalm 111: 5 because he is ever mindful of his covenant which he sealed with your forefathers. The righteous eateth to the satisfaction of his soul ( Proverbs 13 : 25).
When you pass through the waters, he will be with you; when you go through the waters, they will not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned ; neither shall the flame kindle you ( Isaiah 43: 2 ). Jehovah , the God that called you and said he loves you cannot lie ;He is our refuge and strength and will never disappoint us. Therefore, let us keep our eyes on him and stop seeking the false peace of this earth. We have not received the spirit of fear. We have received the Spirit of Adoption whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
May God bless you this morning; may He give you the peace that comes only from KNOWING HIM AND TRUSTING HIM . May he protect and guide you and your family . May he fill your day with goodness and gladness . And let the church say, AMEN and Amen.
