Just as feared by human rights and political activists who have been clamoring for his release from detention at Pademba Road Prisons, Alliance Democratic Party ( ADP ) leader Mohamed Kamarainba is critically ill and has been transferred this morning from cell to the Military Hospital at Wilberforce , Freetown, where he is now being denied visitors.

Upon hearing the news that Kamaraimba has been hospitalized, I and two other renowned journalists employed frantic effort with utmost synergy and energy to ascertain the veracity of the information. We therefore rushed at ECOMed, where we were told he was hospitalised. Upon arrival, we were told he has been relocated to the 34 Military Hospital.

You’ll recall that the ADP Chairman and leader was arrested and detained on allegations of sexual penetration of a child in February 2020 and since then , he has been incarcerated for over two years now. Six months ago, on Tuesday, 7th September, 2021, Kamaraimba was granted a bail with a condition of Le.100 M and two sureties on Tuesday , 7th September 2021.
Irrespective of the bail conditions allegedly met ,he is still held in detention at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre .
As at today, Tuesday, 22nd March , we are intimated that the detained ADP leader was sick and taken to the ECOmed hospital. We went there but told he has been relocated at the 34 Military Hospital.
According to family sources, Kamaraimba was last seen on a stretcher and all effort to see him have been denied. The family is presently caught in a web of despire and quagmire as they are confused as to what’s the state of their brother. The family is in tears as they have been denied the opportunity to see him until “Orders from Above”.
Family and Relatives of Kamarainba have told me that the Hospital Management at 34 Military has denied them access to see Kamarainba.
