The All People’s Congress ( APC ) New Jersey Chapter last Saturday staged a delightful , jampacked and successful fundraising dance at the East Franklin Firehouse in Somerset, New Jersey.
The capacity crowd at the hall included hundreds of APC members, including some chapter Presidents who travelled from different parts of the continental United States to attend the ceremony. Many members of the community , including supporters of the opposition Serra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) attended the program.

The Minister Plenipotentiary to the UN , Mr. Leeroy Wilfred Kabs-Kanu, who lives in New Jersey, attended the fundraiser, while Deputy Permanent Representative for political Affairs, Ambassador Amadu Koroma traveled from New York to be in attendance. Mr. Koroma announced during the occasion that he was declaring himself a member of the APC New Jersey .

The Chairman of the Interim government of APC-USA, Mr. Ibrahim Sanfa Kamara led hs executive members to the occasion. Present also were the former Chairman of APC-NA, Mr. Osman T. Conteh ; the President of the Washington DC Chapter, Madam Beatrice Conteh, the President of the Philadelphia Chapter, Mr. Kebbie Turay, the Vice-Chairman of APC -USA , Mr. Abubakarr Kanu traveled with his wife all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to attend. Some members of their chapters traveled to New Jersey to be part of the program.The APC -USA women’s leader , Ms. Mariama Lowe-Bangura also put in a presence.
Also present were the Chairman of the Sierra Leone Community in New Jersey ( SLCNJ ) , Mr. Lamin Alharazim and the former Chair of the opposition SLPP -USA, Mr. Jerry George.

The muslim prayers were rendered by Alhaji Tofro Nabe, who also traveled from New York to attend, while the christian prayers were said by Mrs. Kadi Kuyateh.
Mr. Pavi Jalloh, President of the New Jersey Chapter, was delighted about what he described as a grand program. He sated that “Words cannot express my gratitude to the APC NJ Family for your steadfast support. I have never been more proud to lead a group of volunteers as dedicated to the common cause as this unit. APC New Jersey has delivered and Cocorioko stands ready to showcase our collective success . ” Mr. Jalloh went on to pay tribute to members who are no longer alive. Our fundraiser is another testament that the seeds planted by our past leaders , the late Ashned Barrie, Aziz Nabe, Dauda Bangura , Brima Bangura and others , were planted on solid ground “.
THE HALL BEFORE THE DANCING EARNESTLY STARTED
The secretary General of APC-USA, Mr. Alimamy Turay, said the fundraiser was a great success ,” especially when there were other free events in our community within the same time”. He emphasized that “Success is always the result of hard work , unity, loyalty and commitment .We all deserve the credit for such great effort. ”

The APC NJ ensured that everybody had a enjoyable time dancing to the delicious music provided . Statements were made by the Minister Plenipotentiary Kabs Kanu, the Chairman of the APC -USA, Mr. Ibrahim Sanpha Kamara , the President of the NJ Chapter, Mr. Pavi Jalloh , the Secretary General, Mr. Alimamy Turay and Dr. Abdul Rahman Kamara but they were brief .
After the short statements, the DJ went into action and the dancefloor was soon filled as the enticing music drew in the attendants and people spent most of the time dancing. Everybody agreed that it was another enjoyable occasion.
The Women’s Leader, Mrs. Namina Kossay gave the vote of thanks at the end of the dance. She paid tribute ti the chapter for a very successful fundraising and thanked guests for traveling from far and wide to attend the program.
