One of the preeminent bulwarks of the APC before it lost power and during this most difficult time in the party’s history has been the unsung hero—-Mr. M.S. BANGURA—who lives in Germany.
Usually , when a political party loses power in Africa, it sinks into oblivion for a long period and the ruling party controls the stage, even the media world, but the All People’s Congress ( APC ) has been an outstanding difference. Though it was removed from power in 2018, the APC. has remained impressively in the limelight. One of the reasons for that is a strong, vibrant, loud and eloquent media system that has spread its tentacles all over the world, having bureaus in many major cities in the world.
The man who has made this possible is none other than the Founder and CEO of the now well-known, well-entrenched,,bursting and flourishing GLOBAL RAPID HUNT UNIT —-A media system that makes full use of the new brand of journalism that has has changed the media architecture , thanks to technology, known as CONVERGENT JOURNALISM, which is a combination of print, audio, video, TV, online and social media journalism.
A very shrewd and experienced politician, Mr. M.S. Bangura realized that there is no way any political party or organization can be predominant in today’s fast-paced , divisive, poisonous and dog-eat-dog world of politics without a very strong and robust media. Having lived in Germany for so many decades where he observed the world political systems, Mr. Bangura learnt that the engine behind any successful political party or organization is a powerful media . This was how the idea of the Global Rapid Hunt Unit was born in his fertile mind.
Since the Global Rapid Hunt Unit came to being in 2013, and established globally in 2017, it participated in the 2018 political campaign and elections and it has transcended the bounds of normal journalism with its convergent brand of media. He has recruited correspondents, citizen journalists and media men and women and information lovers all over the world. given them a mission , which is to go all over the world and canvass. Propagate and promote the platform, Agenda and achievements of the political party that always brings socioeconomic and political developments whenever it is in power in Sierra Leone—The APC. The Global Rapid Hunt was registered with the Freetown City Council as a community-based organization for development CBO. It got affiliated to the APC in the very 2018.
It was approved by the Secretary General of the APC and the Leadership who had given it their full support in progress since then.
The Stakeholders are all over the five ( 5 ) continents who are always ready to answer their CEO’s call for success in the unit’s projects.

Through sheer passion, organizational genius and putting his money where his mouth is, Mr. M.S Bangura has set up a media system that controls the production and dissemination of information in the social media and beyond.
In the journalism world, news is only profitable when it is relevant, useful and interesting and this has been the fulcrum of the success of the Global Rapid Hunt Unit—-it produces and disseminates news that is instant, hot, relevant, current, useful and thrilling through audio, video , print and a new TV station . Rapid Hunt Unit correspondents and citizen journalists sent reports to the various news platforms online whole day. Wherever there’s breaking news they are there to bring it to the world.
According to Mr. Bangura, the Global Rapid Hunt Unit has about 42 Rapid Hunt groups and domains, including a TV and a radio station in Freetown . The TV station has a program called the BRUTAL TRUTH which provides an in-depth and brutal analysis of the socioeconomic and political situation in Sierra Leone on a regular basis.
But who is M.S. Bangura, the man who had given the APC and Sierra Leone a window of opportunity to traverse the world information world ? ~~Mr. Bangura is not a stranger to the All People’s Congress and Sierra Leone politics. He served the APC dutifully under the late President Siaka Stevens and was a civil servant also at one time. He was born at Kamalo in the Karene District and attended school in Freetown. He was trained at the then Civil Servants Training College and was assigned to the Ministry of Works . He then served in the Eastern Region ( Kenema, Daru and Kono ) in the Presidential Scheme Program before he was retransferred to Freetown .
Mr. Bangura moved to Germany in 1988 and from there participated in many development programs targeting the poor in Sierra Leone. He loves his country, Sierra Leone and believes that through a wholesome functioning media, a new and better Sierra Leone could be built.
