THE SPEAKER, DR. ABASS BUNDU, IS TOTALLY WRONG REGARDING THE IMPOSITION OF PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION FOR 2023.

I am of the opinion that Dr. Abass Bundu may be inadvertently misleading President Bio and his sordid paOpa regime regarding PR system for the parliamentary election in 2023.B
Bundu is reported to view Section 34, Clauses 1-3 of the 1991 Constitution as granting the President the discretionary authority to choose, as he deems fit, between the P.R. way of elections and our usual, single-MP-per-constituency directly elected by voters in each constituency. as he deems.
The 1991 Constitution grants the President no such discretionary authority. Not only that, the people of Sierra Leone certainly do not want, nor will they approve of using the highly unusual PR system to select either their MPs or their President.
And Section 34, 1, 2 & 3 of the present Constitution is, in fact, a ringing affirmation of the electoral system for electing MPs that has been in force first since 1951. That single constituency system is the continuation
