An opposition All People’s Congress ( APC ) politician, former Member of Parliament, Hon. Emmanuel Saidu Conteh, has been attacked in his office at Main Motor Road, Congo Cross, and left brutally injured.
The purpose of the attack by unknown men in masks remains a big quagmire but rumors are spreading that the powers-that- be in Sierra Leone ordered the ruthless and bloody attack on the former politician, for his critical stance against the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) Government, led by Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio.
There have been isolated threats in recent times against opposition politicians following their criticisms of the SLPP Government for its poor governance and there are even reports that this violent attack on the ex- MP is just the beginning of planned cordinayed attacks on other politicians, including the former APC flagbearer, Dr. Samura Kamara.
An official of the SLPP Government contacted by this paper for comment said he had no idea of who was behind the atrack.

A former member of Parliament by the name of Hon. Emmanuel Saidu Conteh was brutally attacked in his office today and left with several deep wounds on his head and face.
Hon. Emmanuel Saidu Conteh who was representing Constituency 129 Urban Freetown, a member of the main opposition political party in Sierra Leone APC, was reportedly attacked by two unknown masked men in the afternoon hours.
I call on the Sierra Leone Police to swiftly investigate this matter and call the perpetrators to face the full penalty of the law.
