The Leader and Leadership of the APC Party.

Concerns over the Composition of the Continental and Regional Mediators into the 24th. June, 2023 Multi-lateral Elections in Sierra Leone:

While the Party’s Delegation to the Dialogue is poised to participate in the process; it is pertinent to audit and certify the composite membership of the Dialogue Mediators.

In particular, it is noted that, the AU/ECOWAS Team is headed by the former Vice-President of the Republic of the Gambia, the Hon. Aja Fatoumata Tambajang.

Given the consanguineous nexus of the First Lady of Sierra Leone to the Republic of The Gambia, the Delegation should, from the outset; points out its concerns over the suitability of the Head of the AU/ECOWAS Mediators.

Nothing should be given away by the Patry’s Delegation to the AU/ECOWAS as well as the Commonwealth.

If anything, the glaring ambivalence of the ECOWAS in responding to undemocratic accession to State power through Electoral Coup D’etre; contrary to Article 1 (c) of the Dakar Protocol of the 21st December, 2001(correcting an earlier post of Saturday, 14th October, instant) which stipulates: “every accession to State power should be through free, fair and transparent election”, should be accentuated by the Delegation at the round table.

The ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government (AHSG) has no mechanism to circumvent Electoral Coup D’etre which it’s Peers often instrumentalise to their potential advantage
for State power retention.

It is evidential that, the Regiona Body demonstrated blatant inaction towards notable pre-elections manipulation of the electoral legal frameworks of Sierra Leone and relevant ECOWAS Protocol relative to the conduct of free, fair, transparent, inclusive and credible elections by the incumbent Party to the Dialogue.

Such inactions should be treated as suspect by the Delegation against according any possible inequitable advantage to the incumbent Party.

After all, the people of Sierra Leone has a legitimate expectation of the Multi-lateral Mediators that, a true, honest and equitable resolution of the current political impasse which, by and large, was advertently instigated by the ECSL; Should be used at this opportune occasion to eloquently say “NO” to the AHSG’S apparent shield against the Sovereign Will of the people to chose their National Leaders through unfettered democratic elections.
