EBOLA 1Ebola Update 11th June, 2014

• The cumulative number of cases tested is 122 with 46 Laboratory confirmed: 43 from Kailahun and 17 confirmed death.
• A total of 4 cases have survived and discharged from the Government Hospital in Kenema. One was discharged on Monday and three more this morning

Interventions
• The outreach medical team still in the field searching for more cases
• Sensitization of the communities including the traditional healers is currently on going.

• The entire staff of Health Education and Social Mobilization division at head office of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation are all in Kailahun district to embark on house to house sensitization and social mobilization

• WHO to fly in additional specialists to assist with case management

• UNFPA and Airtel have provided support to train up to 300 community volunteers in contact tracing and surveillance in the Kailahun District

• The MSF technical team was in Daru to strengthen the Observation unit, the team is now on its way to Kailahun to give support to the DHMT in establishing a treatment center in Kailahun
