Hon Kandeh Yumkella vouches to continue to have engagements with President Bio

*HON. KANDEH YUMKELLA VOUCHED TO CONTINUE TO HAVE ENGAGEMENTS WITH PRESIDENT BIO*‼️

The NGC’s Parliamentary Leader and 2018 Flagbearer, Hon. KKY in a meeting with his party’s stakeholders has told the NGC that he has been having engagements with president Julius Maada Bio on national development and he will continue with that in the interest of Sierra Leone.

For the last two years Hon. Kandeh Yumkella has been preaching the unification of the country especially in politics for the betterment of the country. In most of his deliveries to Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad he has asked that we forgive each other. He would always say “..members of other political parties are not our enemies, our enemies are poverty, ignorance and corruption.”

Dr Kandeh Yumkella told the membership of the NGC that since 2007 he supported the Ernest Bai Koroma administration, he mentioned that he chaired EBK’s first investment summit in the UK. KKY said he will continue to support government’s best practices no matter who is president. As he did with the APC administration for 11 years whilst he was at UNIDO he will continue to do so with President JMB’s administration. In plain Krio KKY said “ Ar go continue me discussions with President Bio in private and in public, ar do that with former president Koroma n nobody nor go stop me for do that now.”

Hon. Dr. Yumkella has faced some criticism within the NGC and around for his New Year’s trip to Tihun on the invitation of president Bio. Both leaders have been in serious engagements on the way forward for the country. We can recall that when president Bio’s administration hosted the Bintumani III Conference on National Cohesion, the main opposition APC party boycotted it whilst Hon. Yumkella’s NGC was in full attendance. The NGC has provided Sierra Leone with constructive criticism and support of government’s best practices in and out of Parliament. The party also signed a memorandum with 13 other political parties at the Coalition of Progressive Political Parties (CoPPP) which the main opposition APC party has not been committed to. We saw the NGC’s leadership withdraw a Parliamentary Candidate to support the APC’s candidate at a bye election in Port Loko but unfortunately the CoPPP arrangement has been neglected by the APC afterwards.

National elections are only five months away. We have seen both APC and SLPP in governance, we have tried a third force that most people say is impossible. The future of Sierra Leone is in the hands of the citizenry and I believe it’s time to adhere to Hon. KKY to unify the country and fight against our common enemies “…poverty, ignorance and Corruption.”
