Lamin Alharazim provides more details about 5oth Anniversary celebrations in New Jersey

The Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Celebration in New Jersey ,  Mr. Lamin Alharazim, has told COCORIOKO that the celebration is a joint effort with all the different organizations in NJ. As was disclosed to this paper two days ago by the Head of the Parade Committee, Madam Madina Rahman, New Jersey is putting together what may turn out to be one of the most thrilling jubilee celebrations.  To make this possible,  Mr Alharazim went on, “We are partners with  the Hamilton Street Business and Community Corporation in Somerset.( HSBCC ) and they are working diligently with us to make the program a big success “.

The enterprising Insurance and Real Estate broker of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage said he was very happy with the level of cooperation  the 50th Anniversary Celebrations Committee is receiving from Sierra Leonean organizations in New Jersey. He disclosed that all the organizations were giving off their best and he wanted to thank all of them so far for their sustained interest and participation . He  repeated what Madam Rahman said that New Jerseyans had impressively got together in a non-partisan spirit to pursue a common interest in their nation’s jubilee celebrations. He said that members of the All People’s Congress (APC), Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) and the People’s Movement For Democratic Change ( PMDC ) were all cooperatively working together to produce a truly national celebration.

In addition to the massive parade and cultural show scheduled for Saturday April 23, the program also includes a big dance that will be held that night at the Chinese Community Centre on School House Road in Somerset. Music will be provided by
DJ Dula and Bayoh .

It will be one of the biggest dances in the Independence Anniversary celebrations. New Jersey is also collaborating with New York and therefore the hall will be jammed with patrons and celebrants from the two states, not to mention the hundreds more who will come from different states. The Sierra Leone UN Club met today and decided to come to New Jersey to join the celebrations ( See report in a different column ). In a spirit of reciprocity, New Jersey will also join New York in their celebrations.
