I wish to examine some of the people President Koroma wants to help him run our country. I will divide them into two segments:The following people are most suitable to hold public office-
(1) Mrs. Zainab Hawa Bangura-she has kept a clean record in public service. For many years she worked for the Reliance Insurance Company and brought a lot of good things into the company. She resigned and formed the campaign for good governance organization, where she was very active in ensuring that government functions well. She got funding for many workshops to train government officials on how to preform well. She was also very instrumental in bringing democracy to our country. Recently she was hired by the untied nations to help rebuilt Liberia. I am sure she will bring her wealth for experience to the ministry of foreign affair.
(2) Alhaji Abu Bakarr Jalloh – is the finest gentleman I have ever met in my life. He is one of the very, very few people with integrity and credibility within the APC. He has served the following institutions will distinction, NDMC, EAST END LOINS,YMMA and UDC and MD university in the USA.I encourage everybody to check his record in these institutions, you will find out that he has a proven and outstanding record.
(3) MR.Abdul Serry-Kamal- Is a distinguish lawyer of a very long standing. He is one of the most loyal members of the APC. During the difficult days of the party, when Ernest Koroma turned his back against the APC, Mr. Serray Kamal stood his ground of defend the party.
(4)Alhaji I.B.Kargbo- Is a respectable journalist. During the debate on the present constitution , he was one of the few APC guys who break up with his party in the interest of the country.
The follow people are not suitable to hold any position in our country:
Dr.S.Kabia- He has being away from Sierra Leone for over 35 years and is totally disconnected with the problems facing our country. What will he bring of the ministry of health? How will he solve our health problem, when he does not even understand the problems. We should not give people position only because they spent huge amount of money in a political party.
Benjamin Davies- He was appointed a counter part general manager at the Ports Authority during the days of the illegal NPRC, he failed woefully to perform, he was immediately terminated. He quickly returned to Atlanta, Georgia .At this time in our country’s history we need people who can preform, we do not need dead woods.
With respect I call on president Koroma to withdraw his nomination.
Ahaji Alpha Kanu- I will not even take you too far. A few years ago, Alpha Kanu collected a large amount of money from people wishing to preform the Hajj in Mecca, he converted the money into his private use. He did not provide the plane and hotel accommodation for our brothers and sisters. Instead of being a minister, Alpha Kanu should a prisoner.
Very soon I will send my objections to the parliamentary committee on public appointments. I call on all well meaning Sierra Leoneans to join me in the fight to prevent the wrong people form holding public offices.

You get it completely wrong on the issue of Alpha Kanu and the pilgrimage business. My uncle was one of those that paid for the trip to Mecca, indeed they could not make the trip at the material time because according to Mr Kanu the company he hired the plane from dissappointed him the last hour.
However, Hee did manage to convey the pilgrims the following year without any further cost. My uncle Alhaji Ibrahim Conteh can testify or verify this statement

the question is not whether or not the pilgrimage materialised the following year. what is relevant is that it did not take place the year it was susposed to,Alpha Kanu could have diverted the money to other use during the one year, like buying treasure bills and investing it in other area.
coversion of the money must have taken place. if Kanu was not having any ulterior motive, he would have planed better for the pilgrimage. it is possible that those who were suposed to have undertaken the holy journey may have died before the following year that you alledged the pilgrimage took place, so Kanu should be investigated or be in jail for wrong doings.

I disagree with your assertion about Dr. Kabia if your objection is based solely on the fact that he has been away for 35 years. Has he established a solid reputation as a physician? This is acutally a great advantage because he’s going to bring a different perspective. If he assembles his ministry staff properly, they’ll balance each other. The fact that he’s been away for 35 years and is willing to return home means his heart is in the right place. He is probably doing it at a great sacrifice too. The other advantage of someone being in this position who’s been away for so long is that he’s amassed wealth already so he’s probably very stable financially. One of the concerns I have seen debated endlessly is that ministers of the pass were really interested because they wanted to fattened their on pockets. There are less strenuous things this man could be doing at this stage in his life. My vote says that he’s really going to serve. Who knows, once things are back on an upswing, he may be able to lure some of his doctor friends over to help make Sierra Leone the next hot vacation spot. Unless you have some more compelling reasons, I have to respectfully disagree with you on this one.
