Sierra Leoneโs Minister of Social Welfare has appealed to a Saudi carrier to extend its operations to Sierra Leone.ย Moijue E. Kaikai leading a three-man delegation to Saudi to make necessary arrangements for Sierra Leoneans intending to perform this yearโs hajj made the appeal to the Deputy CEO of Flynas airline on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 during a signing ceremony of Aircraft Charter Agreement to airlift this yearโs would-be pilgrims from Sierra Leone.

Responding, Ahmed Saeed Sultan promised to discuss it with the Flynas management, adding that: โWe will soon start flying to Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone could be our next destination.โ Sultan went on: โWe are really looking at where we can add value to our customers and we will be flying to the business and leisure destinations our customers are demanding
Meanwhile, the Minister has signed the Aircraft Charter Agreement for the airlifting of about 1,000 Sierra Leoneans from Lungi International Airport to King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for this yearโs Muslim pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia which is expected to officially commence in October this year.
MINISTER KAI-KAI SHAKES HANDS WITH FYNAS OFFICIALS
The Minister signed on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone and Ahmed Sultan represented Flynas. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Sierra Leoneโs resident Ambassador in Saudi Arabia, H.E Alhaji M.S. Kargbo, Special Assistant to H.E the President on Political Affairs, Hon. Nuru Deen Sankoh โYillah and Dr. Ahmed Ramadan Jalloh of the Sierra Leone Hajj Mission. And Ader Alhindi, Senior Manager and Yasser Ajlan, Logistic Manager on the part of the airline.
Flynas is a leading carrier in Saudi Arabia with a good number of fleets, operating nearly 1,000 weekly flights on over 30 destinations within and outside of Saudi Arabia. Launched in 2007, a spokesman of the airline said, it has successfully operated over 140,000 flights carrying more than 16 million passengers, a number that has steadily grown over the years.
