The Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP) Government , led by embattled Retired Brigadier Maada Bio , has failed to pay public workers and civil servants for December, worsening the extreme hardship already marking life in Sierra Leone under Bio’s failed leadership.
Teachers are facing an even more grim festive season as they have not been been paid for November nor for December, making this one of the worst Christmas holidays ever in Sierra Leone.
According to reports received by COCORIOKO, the SLPP Government is facing an acute cash shortage, though the mouthy claims and imprudent propaganda of SLPP officials and supporters on social media and the larvish, ostentatious lifestyles of SLPP government functionaries fool unsuspecting but worried citizens abroad about the seriousness of the economic crises the government has plunged the country into through rampant corruption, extravagant spending, profligate lifestyles, with President Bio, especially , wasting previous resources on his uncontrolled and needless foreign travels and bloating the government payroll with unnecessary appointments of cronies.
Christmas was already going to be gloomy with the sharp and uncontrolled increases of prices of food and basic commodities under this Paopa government , with a bag of rice now costing over one million leones . The SLPP then went and made matters worse by failing to pay salaries.
