The message from the political class has been clear:
Let the people suffer forever.
For 61 years, Sierra Leoneans have been forced to survive under governments that simply do not work for the people. Since independence in 1961, every administration has repeated the same betrayal: rising poverty, collapsing services, and a system designed to keep the masses suffering while the privileged few enjoy power without accountability.
Today, It is believed that Sierra Leone stands as:
• The landmark of poverty
• The landmark of bad and corrupt governance
• The landmark of non-transparent and manipulated elections
• The landmark of endless electricity blackouts
• The landmark of lack of basic necessities — clean water, food security, medicine, jobs, dignity
This is not accidental. This is a manufactured system of suffering.
A system where it perceived as officials are appointed not to serve, but to collect fat salaries, enrich themselves, silence dissent, and maintain a status quo that destroys hope for millions.
I think Sierra Leone’s governance has become a world-class example of injustice, so deep and so enduring that it rivals the darkest periods of human history. The message from the political class has been clear:
“Let the people suffer forever.”
But this generation refuses to accept that fate.
This generation will not allow Sierra Leone to remain the global symbol of bad governance and human neglect. The time has come to confront the system head-on, expose the failures, and demand a nation where leadership serves the people—not the other way around.
The struggle continues. The silence is over.
