Written by Ibrahim Koroma
Wednesday, 14 May 2008
May I start by thanking you for updating us on a daily bases about what is happening in our beloved country S/Leone. Please allow me space in your widely read news paper to air my views about the renaming of one of our streets in Freetown. Kissy street in Freetown (as it was formally known) was changed to Abacha street by the then SLPP government for no decent reason. My honest advice goes to the editor of Cocorioko not to allow mischief makers to lead this credible newspaper to abandon the basic and finest tenets of journalism, by pandering to the whims of a ghost captain. I am not about to hold my fire or acquiesce in the presence of a vanquished man who claims he never withdrew under rebel fire and will not do so now. READ THE FULL ARTICLE :
