The 51st Independence Anniversary of Sierra Leone is being celebrated with pomp and pagentryย like last yearโ€™s ย , starting with a massive parade in the township today, Saturday April 21, 2012 and followed by the big Independence Anniversary Dance later tonight at the Somerset Hotel ,ย on the opposite side ofย  the Ukranian Centre.

Sierra Leoneโ€™s national flags-The green, white and blueโ€“are fluttering in theย wind ย in the business district of Somerset . This is a great achievement not only for Sierra Leoneans in New Jersey but forย ย the ย country. This recognition in the United States is a reward for the industry, seriousness andย  contribution of Sierra Leoneans ย to the development of North America. That a whole state would give our country such a recognition is also a testament of the ability of Sierra Leoneans to excelย  and live productive lives wherever they find themselves.
