ALL PEOPLE’S CONGRESS*
*PUBLIC NOTICE*
The attention of the All People’s Congress has been drawn to notices sent to some APC Members of Parliament regarding the pending petition cases at the High Court of Sierra Leone.
The recent judgement by the High Court in favour of Isha Johansen in the Anti-corruption matter has started the process of restoring the independence of the judiciary and we as a Political Party we commend the leadership of the Judiciary.
We hope that today, Friday 31st May the process of restoring the independence of the judiciary will continue by having impartial judgements on the petition cases. These cases have continued more than four months as stipulated by the electoral law and we must draw a closure to enable our MPs perform their jobs without any further distraction.
Whatever the outcome of the judgements this morning, we call on all APC members to obey the law, be peaceful and respect the judgements of the court until further directives are given by the national secretariat. The general public should be reminded that the APC safeguarded the peace and stability of this Nation during the Presidency of His Excellency former President Ernest Bai Koroma and as the main opposition party we will continue to do same.
I call on all APC members to turn out in your numbers to support your members of parliament in court today. We hope the judgements on the petition cases will strengthen our democracy and vindicate the All People’s Congress.
Long live the APC!
Long live the People of Sierra Leone!
Long live the independence of the Judiciary!
Signed
*Amb. Alhaji Dr. Osman Foday Yansaneh*
*National Secretary General – APC*
