*Civil Society Advocates in Sierra Leone: A Disappointment in Representing the Masses*

In modern states, civil society institutions play a crucial role in safeguarding the principles of democracy and human rights. Sierra Leone’s civil Society advocates are expected to discharge their duties with moral standards. Under this current dispensation, our civil society advocates have failed to effectively advocate for the suffering masses against the detrimental policies of the government.
Rather than defending the people of Sierra Leone, civil societies activists have opted to shield and support President Bio’s failed administration. They have become complicit in eroding the democratic fabric of our nation. It is evident that some of these so-called evil society activists are on government payroll, which has undermined their credibility.
Many civil society organizations have become inert, and thus unable to address the issues facing the suffering masses. Their silence speaks volume in betraying their duty to serve as advocates for the people.
Prosperity will ultimately judge these so-called ill-minded civil society activists.
