Pastor Tigidankay Kabs-Kanu of the New Jersey-based Covenant Child World Ministries today called on women to continue exercising faith in God and not to give up on any circumstances.

Delivering the MOTHERS’ DAY SERMON , Pastor Tigi preached that  through their commitment to God and the exercise of faith and prayers, women have turned around impossible-looking circumstances to the benefit of their people. Using  the experiences of three women of faith in the Bible who faced dire circumstances, Pastor Tigi urged women to continue obeying  God and  praying fervently to him, and that  through  their obedience , faith and prayers  they will be able  to help themselves and their societies gain victory over their circumstances to the glory of God .

The first woman she used as example to demonstrate her point was Hannah in  1 Samuel 1 : 3-20. Hannah could not have children because the Lord has shut her womb and her adversary provoked her to make her fret and feel more discouraged and disconcerted. But Hannah did not turn on her adversary to pay back . Rather, that grim situation, she said, pushed Hannah to fervent prayer . She did not only pray but she exercised faith and was specific about her request to God. She wanted a man-child. The result was that God remembered Hannah and she conceived and had a son , Samuel, who became a great prophet of God. God turned her adversary’s provocation into victory for her. God can do the same for any one who places his/her trust in him and prays to Him for change in his/her circumstances. “Your adversaries will try to capitalize on your lack to discourage you further and to gloat, but as a  child of God, you  must not allow that to trouble  you because God can use that provocation to turn your problem into a big victory to his glory ” .

The Rev. Tigidankay Kabs-Kanu told her congregation that behind every cloud there is sunshine. Weeping may endure for the night , but joy comes in the morning, she fired up her congregation , using Psalm 30: 5  .

ESTHER was a common girl and a slave   but she ended up in  the King’s Palace , Sister Tigi further preached, and  because of her faith in God and her prayers and fasting, Esther  gained favour from the King to enter into his presence , though it was a violation to go into the presence of the king without notice ( Esther 4 ) . Mordecia told Esther who knows whether she was in that situation for the deliverance and enlargement of Israel. She was God’s woman for that situation and time  and God used her to change the decree of the king which saved the children of Israel from being exterminated. God will use any of the women in the church to deliver his people anywhere if they exercised faith and prayed to God and obeyed him, like Esther did.

RAHAB was a woman of easy virtues and she entertained a certain kind of crowd. But she was the one who accommodated the spies sent to Jericho by Joshua to spy the land ( Joshua 2 ) . She hid them up the roof of her house when the men were being looked for  by the evil people of Jericho and she helped them to escape. She showed respect and commitment to the things of God and because of that God granted her salvation and changed her circumstances for good. Rahab took an incalculable risk in accommodating  and saving the men of God  and God saved her and her household. “Who is the Lord sending to you for your salvation that you are rejecting and kicking away ? Put God first in your lives and seek his glory and he will be pleased with you .It is time to open your door unto the saints of God that are being sent to you .It is time to put God first and love the things of God,” Sister Tigi preached further .

Giving a prophetic message, the Co-Pastor of the church, Rev. Wilfred Leeroy Kabs-Kanu said that God is about to open the windows of Heaven and pour down abundant blessings to his children. “If you have been trusting God for a job, he is about to do it.If you have been trusting God for a child, he is about to give you.If you have been trusting God for a home, he is about to give you. Just continue praying and exercising your faith and obey God. God wants to bless his children so  that their lives will be full , but he wants us to get rid of our resentments and forgive those who have trespassed against us  . Forgive others so God will forgive your own transgressions. Praise be to the name of the Lord “.

Two sisters gave stirring testimonies about what God had done for them while Sister Adiatu Cole rocked the house with her rendition of the hymn, ‘Amazing Grace. ‘

Brother Gibrilla Dumbuya also admonished the brethren not to give up and to continue trusting God , however bad the circumstances.
