No new Ebola case in Kono as rumored.

Freetown, Sierra Leone – 5 November 2015:  There is no new Ebola case in Sierra Leone today, day 41 of the countdown to Zero + 42. The countdown continues.

An investigation determined that earlier reports of an Ebola case in Kono district are unfounded. The rumors were related to routine health care support for survivors.

Surveillance and active case search continues across the country and if no new case is recorded by 7 November 2015, Sierra Leone will have met the criteria set by WHO to declare the end of the current outbreak in Sierra Leone.
