Title: New Central Bank Governor named
Dr. Samura Kamara – New Bank Governor
State radio last night announced Dr Samura Kamara as the new Central Bank Governor with immediate effect. Dr Kamara replaces Dr J.D.Rogers whose appointment has been seen by the new government as political. Dr Rogers was formerly a Deputy Finance Minister under the SLPP government before being appointed Bank Governor.

Dr Kamara replaces Dr J.D.Rogers whose appointment has been seen by the new government as political. Dr Rogers was formerly a Deputy Finance Minister under the SLPP government before being appointed Bank Governor.
Dr Samura Kamara was for a very long period the Financial Secretary but left about a year ago to take up a post at the IMF.
His appointment is being seen as bringing back professionals to mann professional institutions.
Dr Rogers bade farewell to his staff in a closed door session at midday yesterday Thursday 18th October.

Good for Salone. We need to clean out the crap the SLPP left behind, if we are ever to see progress in the country.

remember apc had the country for 20 years no progresss was made. no light. curbs on freedoms of speach. slpp came and they did the same thing fattened they pockets. for now lets give the new government a chance at the same time lets not give up our freedom of speach. let these newspapers be able to say what they want. if we curb freedoms of speech we would just be pretending to be a democracy. we must learn to disagree and agree respectfully. both sides
