SLPP Women Mobilise Against First Lady
The conduct of elections for the post of SLPP National Women’s Leader in Kailahun last Saturday is said to be marred by fraud, scandals and yuki yuki allegedly masterminded by the First Lady, Mrs Fatima Maada Bio.
SLLP supporters accuse the First Lady of meddling into SLPP party politics by allegedly financing another candidate , Josephine Jackson, against the popular Madam Fatmata Sawaneh.

Women are the backbone of SLPP

This was a Fatima Bio vs Fatmata Sawaneh election. Hawa Foray was merely a tool Fatima Bio thought she could use to unseat Fatmata Sawaneh. Fatima Bio thought she could use her money and power to achieve this objective. She failed.
If Fatmata Sawaneh was not a strong women Fatima would have gotten away with it. Fatmata Sawaneh has been in SLPP long enough to know how elections are rigged in the party. She knew that the fact that Umaru Napoleon and Prince Harding refused to disclose the delegate list meant they too had been co opted by Fatima Bio to effect the rigging.
The only reason why Fatima Bio stayed in the hall and not leave when Maada Bio left is because she thought they had a fool proof rigging plan and she wanted to make sure its executed. Much to their surprise, Fatmata Sawaneh support was too massive.
Majority of SLPP Women were firmly behind her. They had had enough of Fatima Bio’s meddling.
President Bio , what you have not been able to do, i e. for mass Fatima Bio in brake, na SLPP Women don do am for we. Thank you my dear sisters. It is a well known fact that women are the backbone of SLPP. Fatmata Sawaneh has demonstrated that fact. She cannot be bullied ; she cannot be cowered into submission; she cannot be bribed to walk away from the race. That ladies and gentlemen is precisely why she deserves to be their Mammy Queen.
