SLPP escalate tension in Sierra Leone by destroying the livehoods of thousands of marketeers by demolishing their stalls and banning trading on Abacha Street

What will the  hypocrites accusing others of inciting chaos in Sierra Leone say now?  Will they now realize that it is the SLPP Government that is the problem in Sierra Leone . By the spirit of impunity the government exhibits daily,  your hypocrisy and blindness to the truth are also proving to be part of the problem in the country.

At a time when the international community is calling for government to dialogue with the people , look at what SLPP are doing . Instead of de-escalating tension, they are provoking it.

They are going out at night, arresting innocent people . Why arrest only during night time ? Now,last night  they went out and  demolished all  the market stalls of traders and destroyed  their livelihood, after already banning trading on Abacha Street.

Is that the way to reduce tension in the country ? Is that the way to bring peace to an already volatile situation ? Is the government not overreacting ?

The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer , has tweeted that she is not aware of this latest development and was not party to this senseless action.

Everybody knows that the junta style of leadership of the SLPP is responsible for the chaos in the country and that the  SLPP is the problem. How do they expect peace in the country with such high-handed  and thoughtless actions and revenge ?

Yet, hypocrites will only talk about people inciting the chaos in Sierra Leone. They will not appeal to the government to calm down.

Is this the way to rule a country ? Did not the United Nations tell them that people have a right to demonstrate ? Why punish traders for refusing to sell in adherance to the nation-wide strike this week ? What if the traders respond by going into the street to demonstrate ?

How can we have peace in Sierra Leone when the President and the SLPP  do not want peace ?

THE FREETOWN MAYOR’S STATEMENT :

It has been brought to my attention via photos on social media that the market stalls at Abacha Street Market were destroyed overnight.
I have also seen posts stating that the Freetown City Council is responsible for this. I would like to inform the general public that the Freetown City Council is not responsible for this action and did not participate in this night operation that happened during the curfew.
