Angry and Frustrated SLPP supporters go on the rampage in Freetown

Ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP) supporters, allegedly incensed at  their neglect by President Maada Bio and the party hierarchy after they won the elections in 2018, broke loose from the party headquarters at Lightfoot Boston  Street and went on the rampage in the city centre yesterday, vandalizing buildings and cars and inflicting injuries on many of their own supporters.

The angry and frustrated youth destroyed the sanctity of the sabbath day, forcing parishioners to abandon church and flee for their lives .

Though the SLPP  supporters on social media , to deceive the public, made it appear like the attack was the handiwork of opposition All People’s Congress ( APC)  supporters who they claimed had stormed their party office , it became clear when the dust cleared that it was SLPP  against SLPP.

COCORIOKO reporters on the ground reported seeing no APC  supporter in the area of the chaos.

In recent times, the headquarters of the SLPP  had become the breeding ground of intense frustration, d

isgruntlement and disenchantment by youths and elders of the party who have been caught on video and audio complaining bitterly about suffering hardship while the president they elected to power and party executives have neglected them completely.

SLPP Youths in Looting Spree in Freetown

Credible reports coming from Freetown with video and photo images say a band of SLPP Youths who had mobilised at their party headquarters at Lightfoot Boston Street this afternoon went on the rampage looting and vandalizing shops at ECOWAS street!

Sources say the SLPP youths complained of unemployment, hardship and hunger they are currently facing in the country. The ruling party supporters therefore mobilised with the intention of paying themselves for their support to the party.

The police intervened to disperse the army of looters. The fire force extinguished fire from vehicles set ablaze.

Sierra Leone has been put under siege by riotous hunger and hardship. The country has no job opportunities. Youth unemployment is very high. The country only qualifies as a fragile state ravaged by decades of massive corruption and mismanagement of state resources that have left it in a state of coma!

Frustrated used and dumped SLPP/PAOPA biocrats thugs ransacked Freetown central district, burning cars and buildings, attacking the innocent with stones, sticks, machetes and slings. And you wonder why our president is flying from latitude to longitude with no yielding results of luring foreign investors. The narrative must change Mr. President. The lawlessness on both sides must be dealt with accordingly without bias, favouritism or connectocracy.

According to a reliable source from Freetown,  the tension is between SLPP/PAOPA- thugs. These thugs were imported from all over the country to fight for the paopa movement with the promise that all of them will be given jobs. These young generation SLPP/PAOPA biocrats are left unattended in the party office with no jobs, no food and they became tired with the status quo.

All the past days they have been demanding better jobs opportunities or at least better living conditions as they bras at the top promised them before the elections. Today push came to shub. The SLPP/PAOPA supporters demanded that they will unleash mayhem in the city unless their demands are met. The brouhaha started between SLPP/PAOPA- supporters inside their office and took it outside causing a lot of damage to the city. According to the source, the gangs of the SLPP/PAOPA supporters demanded that their current chairman is of no use and asked that he should be replaced ASP. Stay tune as events unfold.
